We were honored that the American Red Cross contacted us to help improve temperature and compressor control for their Blood and Plasma Storage Rooms at their newest facility in Pomona, CA

This facility is the largest Blood and Plasma Storage facility in the United States, second largest in the world!

After only operating a year, the Red Cross realized their existing control system was not adequate for this application. With Blood and Plasma worth millions of dollars stored in each room, variance in room or product temperature is not an option- no matter what the outside conditions are.

Their strict Quality Standards require little or no temperature fluctuation of the Blood and Plasma, at a holding temperature of -32 C (-26° F)!

This project involved the installation of CR110 Controllers onto their existing condensing Units, with a G70 Touch Screen Interface mounted at the storage room. The G70 Interface (pictured below) was customized for this application.

The results included; much better storage room temperature control, more effective defrost cycles, improved data logging ability, and overall improved system control.

We eliminated many components, while delivering a completely redundant control system.

Below is one pile of wire, relays, timers, etc. that were replaced with the installation of our CR110 Control Cards.

By far one of our most challenging applications for the CR110 Controllers, we were extremely pleased with the results and look forward to more challenges in the future.

We owe a big thank you to Lloyd and his crew for making this changeover happen. To have such a vital, precious product relying on our control system is truly an honor.
