Job Description:  

The Controller is a key member of the leadership team and is accountable for the integrity of the company’s financial operations. This role encompasses oversight of accounting functions, internal controls, financial reporting, and strategic cost analysis. A strong emphasis is placed on job cost accounting, partnering with internal stakeholders, particularly manufacturing operations, to drive efficiencies, reduce costs, and support operational improvements. The Controller will help champion a culture that values data accuracy, accountability, and metrics-driven decision-making. 

Primary Responsibilities:

• Lead all aspects of the Finance Department’s daily operations and long-term planning. 
• Direct the preparation of timely and accurate financial statements, forecasts, and annual budgets. 
• Implement and maintain robust job cost accounting practices to support product profitability analysis and operational decision-making. 
• Partner with the Manufacturing and Operations teams to analyze cost drivers and improve production efficiency. 
• Collaborate with Supply Chain on standard product pricing and cost structure alignment. 
• Provide financial insight to the CEO and Executive team to support strategic planning and risk management. 
• Oversee audits, ensure compliance with GAAP, and recommend process improvements. 
• Monitor and ensure compliance with debt covenants and internal control policies. 
• Lead initiatives to establish and reinforce a data and metrics-driven culture. 
• Manage external relationships with banks, insurance providers, and CPA firms. 
• Ensure timely compliance with all local, state, and federal regulatory requirements, including tax filings. 

Education and Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required. 
• Proven finance leadership experience in a manufacturing environment. 
• Demonstrated expertise in job cost accounting and financial analysis. 
• Strong managerial and team-building skills, including remote team oversight. 
• Proficient in ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics Business Central preferred). 
• Highly ethical, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous improvement. 
• Must be able to travel to Mocksville, NC, quarterly or as needed.
